Valentine Weekend Ball and Workshops with Dani Tuero & Aja Fenn, February 6-15, 2010.

Our guest teachers and performers for Valentine Tango Ball and Workshops will be Aja Fenn & Dani Tuero. Daniel Tuero belongs to the new generation of Argentinian tango dancers and teachers who consider natural and comfortable movements to be essential in enjoying the dance and to feel the connection with one's partner and with the music. Likewise, Daniel considers that while the technique and mechanics of dance are important, their greatest importance lies in how they are used in the interpretation of the music. Dani's teaching style has been shaped by his education at El Motivo Tango with Luciana Valle, Dina Martinez and Valencia Batiuk. Some of the master teachers who have taught and inspired him for the last 10 years are Gustavo Naveira, Mariano Chicho Frumboli, Sebastian Arce y Mariana Montes.

Originally from the UK, Aja has been dancing Argentine Tango for over 10 years. She has a childhood background in Russian Ballet. Aja sees tango as creating a physical manifestation of the music. She emphasizes self exposure and courage in bringing who we are to our dancing. Recently she has focussed on women’s leading and men’s following, as a way of progressing to a holistic understanding of the dance. She is indebted to her ex-husband, Pablo Tapia, for teaching her how to lead. Aja’s teachers and greatest influences are, among others, Eugenia Parilla, Evren Sayin, Gaston Torelli, Mariela Sametband, Moira Castellano, Matias Facio and Cecilia Conzales

This year our gala Tango Ball will be at the Tara Ballroom the historic Irish Club. Dani & Aja will perform and Tango Paradiso will provide us with the live sounds of tango. Places are limited and this event is always a sell-out. Phone Kerry (0411821825; skerryaw@yahoo.com.au) asap and book your table!

Another change this year is that Byron Bay,will host Aja and Dani in a Pre-Valentine Milonga and Workshops on Saturday, 6th of February. And being a "Tangonut Event", the cost is kept to a minimum and the enjoyment to a maximum!

I thank you in advance for your support and look forward to sharing this special week with you.
