At last, the eargerly awaited details for the 2008 festival!

This year is the lucky "13th" Byron Bay Tango festival. It is packed with activites, starting on Friday with the latest films by Carla Thakrah, followed by a dance performance by Murat and Michelle and finally a Welcome Milonga! An art exhibition by Jan Rae ( whose painting features at the head of this homepage), will be open for viewing during the festival. We also have a new "home" for our festival activities smack in the centre of Byron at the Byron Bay Commuity Centre, surrounded by cafes, restaurants and accommodation. The formal Saturday evening Festival Milonga will be held at this new location.

The hallmark of BBTF is its "master class" format where a group of experienced tango dancers is taken on a two-day journey of discovery, guided by the insight and experience of teachers and performers of Argentine Tango with an international reputation. This year's master teachers are the superbly elegant and versatile Murat Erdemsel and Michelle Erdemsel. As well as being exceptional dancers and performers, they are gifted communicators - don't miss them!
